For our purposes, a filter is a machine that removes solids from liquids allowing the liquid to beused over and over again. A central system is a filter that provides clean liquid to more than one machine tool (grinder or hone). The opposite is a dedicated filter that provides clean fluid to only one machine tool (grinder or hone)
What is the benefit of having a central system if I have more than 1 filter?
- Increased manufacturing space. The central system is located remote from the machine tools.
- Most of the manufacturing space previously taken by the individual filters can be recovered
and used for manufacturing equipment. - Improved process control.
- Only one location to maintain liquid properties. The liquid properties are consistent across all machine tools.
- Reduced labor costs. One place to maintain fluid properties and collect solids.
